CARING FOR OUR PEOPLE AND OUR COMMUNITY

We are invested in our community and our environment

Making a difference in our local communities and society as a whole is integral to our business philosophy. As the staff members are one of our most valuable resources, we recognise our responsibility to the people who work for the company and their families and their spiritual, social and economic enrichment is of great importance to us. We believe in creating a workplace where our people are given opportunities to nurture their inborn talents and develop their leadership qualities.

Mooigezicht Estates implements a broad range of social and development benefits and this includes a comprehensive social responsibility programme and a range of facilities for the support of our employees and their families.

These include housing for our staff and their families as well as for some retired staff members, the Estate clinic, library as well as sport and recreation facilities for our workers and their children and spiritual support programmes.

Looking after future generations

Our social programmes and environmental initiatives are also providing ways is which to sustain future generations.

Education

Our crèches take care of the children of our staff while their parents are at work. The facilities have trained staff and are equipped to care for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. The facilities include Early Child Development and here our trained teachers offer a curriculum specifically designed for the development of 3 to 5-year-olds.

The Estate’s community centre incorporates the library, clinic and training centre. In this facility we provide school after care facilities where end a supervisor who assists scholars with their homework. The library includes computer access to the internet for reference purposes.

Community development

The company’s responsibility commitments extend to people in the broader local community beyond the estate boundaries as this is an important part of the business ethos. These include soup kitchens which are run throughout the winter months, the clothing bank which is available for community members who are in need of clothes due to a crisis and the community spiritual outreach and the distribution of bibles and spiritual material.  We also offer an annual tertiary education bursary to one of the top matriculant achievers from the community.
